No satisfaction for Hell’s Angels’ would-be Jagger assassins

Arts: The Guardian reports a documentary airing on BBC Radio 4 tonight claims the Hell’s Angels plotted to assassinate Rolling Stones’ frontman Mick Jagger at his Long Island home. Stormy seas flipped the would-be assassins’ boat before they reached the shore and a second attempt was never made.

Science: Space.com reports that anomalies have been detected in in the motion of four spacecraft when they flew past the Earth. The anomalies have baffled NASA scientists and are giving rise to theories about the effect of Earth’s rotation on the craft.

World: It’s been a rough few days for Colombia. Both Ecuador and Venezuela are threatening their neighbor with military action, the Associated Press reports. On Saturday, Colombian rebel Raul Reyes was killed by Colombian commandos in a raid of a Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) post within Ecuador. During the raid, a note found from Reyes said allegedly that Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez had given the guerrilla group $300 million.

Tech: Next week the Homeland Security Department will lead “Cyber Storm II” war games among foreign governments, agencies, states and corporations, Federal Computer Week reports. The exercises aim to test the preparedness of all “to respond to cyberattacks on information technology, communications, chemical and transportation infrastructure.”

World: OpEdNews.com reports that the United Nations held meetings Feb. 12-14 in which concerns were discussed “about social upheaval from continued UFO sightings and the testimonies of individuals claiming to have firsthand knowledge about UFOs, extraterrestrial life, and future global events.”
