Election 2008: The New York Times reports that unofficial tallies in the New York state primary undercounted votes for Sen. Barack Obama. Discrepancies noted in “a review by The New York Times of the unofficial results reported on primary night found about 80 election districts among the city’s 6,106 where Mr. Obama supposedly did not receive even one vote, including cases where he ran a respectable race in a nearby district.”

World: CNN reports that the investigator of Benazir Bhutto’s death claims the top suspect — Taliban commander Baitullah Mehsud — “paid out more than $7,000″ to have her assassinated.

World: An exuberant independence day was celebrated in Kosovo, the BBC reports. Teuta Bokshi told the BBC, ”Albanians have gone through horror to come to this point. We thank everyone who supported us. We thank United States of America, United Kingdom, Europe and everyone.”
